I left my hotel room that morning like I always do. It’s not much, but it was my space — the little room I pay for weekly, the place that held every piece of my life. Everything was fine when I walked out that door, and then around 3:20 PM I got the phone call that no one ever wants — “your room is on fire.”
Cool, right? Except when I got there it was all smoke, water, and ashes. My bathroom was burned black, my walls were scorched, and everything I owned was ruined.
